About Me

DANIELLE WOOD

JD, MA, LMHC

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) practicing in Ballard. I feel incredibly lucky to do the work that I do. My background includes experience in both law and technology followed by a risky transition. I know well that the demands of those environments can lead one to question their own values and sense of fulfillment. It is precisely those questions that led me here, where I am now most at home helping clients to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the forces that shape their individual perspectives.

Though my approach will vary depending upon your goals, my practice relies primarily upon psychodynamic, family systems, existential, and psychobiological theories. This means: we will explore family origins and long-held patterns of relating considering their implications on daily life and their alignment with the person you hope to be. I also believe it is important to account for the presence of stress and how it might affect your physicality, memory, and the way you connect to the larger world.
